Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Flights to Madrid usually leave from terminal 3, although they do sometimes leave from terminal 2. Double check your boarding card before heading to the airport. Shops in T3 include sweet shop LOL Sweets, deli Petra Mora, a duty free shop and a range of fashion stores including Desigual, Gap and Victoria's Secret. There are plenty of places to grab a coffee and a bite before your flight, including favourites like Caffe Ritazza and Starbucks. Look out for the Whopper Bar by Burger King: don't miss a chance to try the Spanish Whopper. There's a VIP lounge: book your place online to get a small discount on the door price.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Madrid Airport is massive. Metro line 8 runs from every terminal to Nuevos Ministerios in the city centre. This journey takes about 15 minutes. Buses are also available: the express 203 leaves from terminals 1, 2 and 4 with a journey time of 40 minutes to the city centre. Bus 200 goes to the Avenida de America transport hub, where you can take long distance buses to other Spanish cities. This bus serves every terminal. Route 101 to the Canillejas transport hub is the cheapest bus, and calls at terminal 1, 2 and 3. Car hire from Madrid Airport is also available: check prices now to find the best deals for your trip dates. There are taxi ranks outside the terminals: remember that taxi fares in Spain are higher at night and during the weekend.

Practical Information

You don't need a passport to fly on domestic routes within Spain. We recommend British citizens keep their passports on them for security purposes. Try to arrive at the airport 90 minutes to one hour before departure.
