There are eight car hire companies with desks at Manchester Airport: Europecar, Enterprise, Hertz, Sixt, Avis and Budget are all located in the Car Rental Village at Manchester Airport on the Ringway road while Thrifty, Easirent and Arnold Clark are located just on the outskirts of the airport - so you don’t need to go far to pick up your car.

Thankfully it is easy to fill up your hire car with petrol at any time of day or night thanks to the 24 hour Texaco garage that is located just one minute by car from the airport. Head southwest on the Ringway Road out of Manchester Airport, left onto Outwood Lane and take the fifth exit on the roundabout. The garage will be on the right hand side.
Driving around Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport is well connected to the region’s main roads. The outer ring road Manchester is the M60 and is accessible from Leeds and Liverpool by the M62 and from Scotland and the south of England by the M6. The M60 orbital road is the best option for accessing the northern part of Greater Manchester.

Enjoy the extraordinary natural beauty of the Fells with its lakes and mountains and beautiful villages. Outdoor enthusiasts can try water-sports, hiking, cycling, horse-riding or relaxing in family cottages, tea rooms and cosy pubs with roaring fires.
Te Lake District is just an hour and fifteen minute drive from Manchester Airport is. Get on the M60 from the airport Ringway Road, taking junction 15 to Bolton. From the M61 take junction 36 to Kendal and follow the signs to the Lake District National Park.

The city centre of Manchester is just 20 minutes by car from Manchester Airport. Simply head south on the Ringway Road, onto the M56 then the M60 and A5103 following signs for the city centre. Council NCP Car Parks provide plenty of off-street parking in Manchester. These have no time limit on parking and there is a free Metro Shuttle bus that links these to the city centre of Manchester. The Arndale and Printworks are the largest. On street parking is charged from 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday at a cost of £1.50 for half an hour. Zone 2 is £1.45per half hour, Zone 3 is £0.60 and Zone 4 is £0.50 for half an hour. Some hotels in Manchester offer car parking; usually this costs extra.
