Air Europa flights

Air Europa is one of Spain’s largest airlines, and is owned by the tour operator Globalia. From their base in Majorca they shuttle holidaymakers from mainland Europe to the Balearic and Canary Islands. They also offer some long-haul flights to North and South America, and have a huge presence in the Spanish capital Madrid. As an associate member of the SkyTeam alliance they have a range of code-share agreements, and also offer charter flights through Thomas Cook.

How to Check In

You can check in online or at the boarding desk. Online check-in is available between 24 and 1 hour before departure. If you’re flying from New York, San Juan, or Miami, you still need to contact the check-in desk at the airport.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

Baggage allowance varies depending on the length of your flight as well as which class you’re travelling in. On medium haul flights, Economy travellers can bring one piece of luggage weighing up to 23kg and Business passengers can bring two pieces weighing up to 23kg each. Extra baggage weighing up to 23kg costs €50* (about £39) per piece if booked in advance, or €60* (about £46.90) per piece if booked in at the airport. On long haul flights, Economy passengers can bring one piece weighing up to 23kg, or two pieces if they’re travelling to Brazil, Bolivia, Caracas, or Lima. Business passengers can bring three pieces weighing up to 23kg, although the weight limit is increased to 32kg for flights to Brazil. On flights to New York, Miami, and San Juan Business passengers can bring two pieces weighing up to 32kg. Extra luggage varies in price, from €50-100* (roughly £39-78) if bought in advance to €60-150* (about £46.90-117.20) at the airport. *Prices subject to change

Seating – Leg Room, Choosing Seats

Leg room is fairly comfortable, with a 31” seat pitch in economy long haul and 51” in Business. On short haul flights the seat pitch is a fair 30-31” which offers slightly more legroom than average budget airlines. Seats are allocated on check-in but you can pre-book your favourite seat for a price. Standard seats cost £3* on domestic Spanish routes, £5* between Spain and the rest of Europe or to Africa, and £10* on intercontinental routes. Seats with extra legroom cost a little extra at £9* on domestic routes, £17* on flights from Spain to the rest of Europe and Africa, and £43*on intercontinental routes. *Prices subject to change

Meals, Snacks, Drinks

Food and drink are complimentary on long-haul flights, and for Business class passengers on short haul routes. Economy passengers flying short-haul can buy snacks and drinks on board, choosing from a range of tasty option on the Gusto menu.
