Airlines that fly from London to Bratislava

Ryanair is the only airline providing direct flights from London to Bratislava, Slovakia. Flights depart from either Luton or Stansted Airport.

Terminal Information

Ryanair do not have any check-in desks at the airport so you will need to either check in online and print your boarding pass or download the Ryanair app and check-in, this will store your boarding pass on your phone. Bag drop desks are available in both airport’s check in halls for those who have luggage for the hold, these close 40 minutes before the flight to Bratislava is due to depart.

London Luton Airport

London Luton Airport is located 35 miles north of Central London. The airport has just one terminal. To speed up your journey through security, you can purchase a Fast Track pass from a kiosk outside the security area. You’ll then be able to enjoy shorter queues and proceed to the departures lounge more quickly.

Luton Airport offers a variety of facilities for passengers. The departures lounge is home to a variety of shopping, food and drink outlets, these include Aelia Duty Free, Boots, Kurt Geiger, Krispy Kreme, Est Bar, Hotel Chocolat and Wasabi.

Throughout the terminal passengers can access a free Wi-Fi connection for up to 30 minutes with prices for longer browsing starting at £3 per hour.

London Stansted Airport is located 30 miles northeast of Central London. The airport has just one terminal and passengers are advised to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight departure time.

In the departures lounge, passengers will find shops including Next, Boots, World Duty Free and WHSmith as well as food and drink favourites like Starbucks, Burger King and a Wetherspoon pub.

Bratislava International Airport

Bratislava International Airport (also known as M. R. Štefánik Airport) is located around nine kilometres northeast of Bratislava city centre. The airport has just one terminal. In the arrivals hall, there are cash machines, a free Wi-Fi connection, an information desk, where you can find out about onward travel and tourist attractions, and car hire companies.

Car hire companies operating at the airport include Avis, Enterprise, Sixt, Europcar, Hertz, Budget and Alwe. If you do choose to hire a car, you’ll find that the airport sits on a well-connected road network, with a direct link to the D1 motorway bypass.

The arrivals hall is also home to a variety of taxi stands, where you can see fares and make a booking. The main bus route into the city centre is the No. 61, which stops outside the arrivals hall and runs to the main railway station approximately every 20 minutes. The N61 is the night bus which runs hourly throughout the night. Tickets are available from the information desk in the arrivals hall or from ticket machines located in the arrivals hall and at the bus stop.

What to Expect in Bratislava

Bratislava enjoys a continental climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and winters are very cold. If you travel between June and August you’ll probably find temperatures reaching up to the mid-twenties and beyond whilst, from December to February, temperatures fall into minus figures during the night and during the day, it’s likely to be between 3°c and 6°c.

Prices in Bratislava are generally significantly cheaper than in London. You can expect to pay €23.00 for a mid-range three course meal for two, €1.80 for a bottle of beer and €0.90 for a one way journey on public transport. Taxi travel and supermarket shopping are also less expensive than in London.
