Faro International Airport (FAO), also called Algarve Airport, is only 2.5 miles from the city of Faro and not difficult to get to. There are taxis all around the city that will drop you off right at the departure hall entrance. Government-owned taxis are easy to recognise by their green and black colour. Buses on the Circuit 16 line take about 20 minutes from the city centre to the airport.
