Terminal Information – Arriving
Indira Gandhi International Airport serves Delhi. IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir all land at the domestic terminal. Air India, Air India Regional, Jet Airways and Vistara all land at terminal 3, the main terminal. The easiest way to reach the city centre is by Metro Express Train to the New Delhi Metro Station. This journey takes 20 minutes and costs INR 60*. Buses also run between the city and the airport, 24 hours a day. This journey is longer at 50 minutes but cheaper at INR 50*. There is an INR 25* charge for luggage, however. Prepaid taxis are available from the booths in the arrival hall.
If you're planning to hire a car at Delhi Airport you'll need to take the free inter-terminal shuttle to the main terminal: unless your flight lands there, of course. Carzonrent is the only rental agency on-site.
Practical Information
We recommend arriving at the airport no later than 90 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure time. Try to arrive earlier if you have luggage to check in. You don't need a passport to fly domestic in India, you simply need to show some photographic ID. If you're a British citizen travelling around India we do recommend keeping your passport on you at all times, however.
