Air Mauritius flights

Air Mauritius is the award winning, flag carrying airline of the island nation of Mauritius. They fly to 26 destinations, mostly focussing on people who are heading to Mauritius for a luxury break. Although not a member of an airline alliance, Air Mauritius has code-share agreements with Emirates, Air France, Malaysia Airlines, South African Airways, and Virgin Australia. How to Check In

Online check in is available from 24 hours before scheduled departure up until three hours before. You can also check in at the airport desk. The airline recommends doing so three hours before departure if you’re flying internationally.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

Baggage allowance differs based on route. For routes to and from Europe, economy passengers are entitled to bring one piece of luggage weighing up to 23kg. Premium economy and business class passengers can bring two bags weighing up to 23kg. Excess baggage costs depend on travel class and route. For example, on an economy flight between Europe and Mauritius the cost of the second piece of baggage would be €100* (just over £79), and for subsequent pieces the fee would be €200* (just over £158). Seating – Leg Room, Choosing Seats

There’s a standard amount of legroom in economy, with a seat pitch of 31”. Business class passengers can really stretch out with a whopping 60” seat pitch.

Booking Fees

There are no booking fees if you book your tickets online. If you choose the ‘pay later’ option, you may be subject to charges. In economy class the charges are MUR 1300* (just under £25.70) for long haul flights, MUR 650* (about £12.85) for medium haul flights, and MUR 250* (about £4.95) for short haul. In Business class the charges are MUR 2550* (just under £50.40) long haul, MUR 1600* (around £31.60) medium haul, and MUR 650* (about £12.85) short haul. These fees are charged per passenger.

Meals, Snacks, Drinks

Complimentary meals and drinks are served in all classes. The food is based on Mauritian cuisine, which itself draws on influences from Europe, India and Asia. Special meals can be ordered. Give the airline 24 hours notice for standard meals, and 48 hours if you want to request a kosher meal.
