Terminal Information – Departing

Southampton Airport has one small but perfectly formed terminal. There are three places to grab a bite to eat, and two shops. Duty free shopping applies on flights to the Channel Islands so you can enjoy a discount in the World Duty Free. If you go a bit wild and don't have room to bring all of your bags on the 'plane, you can use Shop & Collect and pick your purchases up once you get back to Southampton. The airport also has a WHSmith where you can pick up some light reading and snacks for the flight.

If you're hungry you can enjoy a sit-down meal at The Globe Bar and Kitchen (before security) or at The Olive Tree cafe bar (after security). If you just fancy a quick coffee and cake you can pop into Costa. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport for four hours. If you have a bit of work to get on with before your flight, or if you just like a bit of extra luxury, check into the Priority Lounge. Prices start at £10* per person. Inside you can enjoy complimentary refreshments as well as unlimited internet access.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Jersey Airport has one small terminal, so it's easy to find onward travel. The bus stop for Bus 15 into St Helier is just outside the building. Single tickets cost £2* and the journey should take no more than half an hour. Metered taxis can be taken from the taxi rank in front of the terminal. Expect to pay about £15* for a trip to St Helier. The airport also has a few car hire desks: Avis, Hertz and Europcar.

Practical Information

Jersey is a member of the Common Travel Area so you don't need your passport to fly from Southampton. Photographic ID will be checked at the gate, so bring your photocard driving license instead. We recommend arriving at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart.

What to expect in Jersey

Jersey isn't a member of the UK, however they do use the pound sterling (£). Temperatures on Jersey are very similar to what you would experience in Southampton. The island only has two bus services, so if you're planning on getting around it's best to rent a car (you can compare car hire at Jersey Airport with Skyscanner). As Jersey is an island it can be quite pricy: pub prices are comparable to London. Something to bear in mind if you're planning on enjoying the fantastic nightlife in St Helier.
