Terminal Information – Departing
Jet2, easyJet and Austrian Airlines all fly from Terminal 1. This is the most modern terminal at Manchester Airport, offering a good selection of high street shops and places to grab a bite to eat. Make the most of tax free shopping at Biza Duty Free, Fat Face, Monsoon and Boux Avenue. If you're feeling hungry you can enjoy cocktails and tapas at Bar MCR, Moroccan inspired cuisine at Cafe Balzar, or a healthy salad at Giraffe. Starbucks have coffee and cakes (perfect for red-eye flights) while the Grain Loft have a good range of wines, beers and pub grub. One hour of free Wi-Fi is available to all passengers.
For added convenience you can pre-book Fast Track security for £3.50*. The Aspire Lounge offers the perfect place to relax before your flight: prices start at £19.99* per person. The lounge has unlimited Wi-Fi and a range of complimentary snacks and drinks. There's also plenty of comfortable seats and a chilled out atmosphere away from the hubbub of the departure lounge.
Terminal Information – Arriving
There are numerous public transport options available just outside the arrivals hall. There are screens showing upcoming departures. There's an S-bahn rail station just under the terminal. Line S7 goes to the city centre. Single tickets cost €4* (about £2.90). It takes about 25 minutes to reach Wien-Mitte train station, on the eastern edge of the city centre. From here you can take underground or overground transport to your final destination. There are three Vienna AirportLines buses, which stop at various points in the city centre. Single tickets cost €8* (about £5.75) and a return is €13* (about £9.30). There's a taxi rank outside the airport and you can expect to pay about €25-30* (roughly£18-£21.50) for a trip to downtown Vienna.
You need a valid passport to travel from the UK to Austria. We recommend arriving at Manchester Airport around 90 minutes before your flight is due to take off. Add extra time if you're travelling during rush hour or the school holidays, or if you've chosen to check some luggage into the hold.
