Terminal Information – Departing

Flybe leave from Manchester Airport Terminal 3, while easyJet leave from Terminal 1.

Terminal 3 has all of the usual airport shops: World Duty Free, Dixons Travel, and Boots. There's also an Accessorize for all those last minute bits and bobs. There are four places to grab a bite to eat or drink: Costa, Trattoria Milano, Upper Crust, and Caffe Nero.

Terminal 1 has a small but good selection of shops. Fat Face, Monsoon and Boux Avenue are perfect for grabbing some last minute outfits (or undies) while Biza Duty Free is a great place to pick up little luxuries like make-up, premium alcohol, and fragrances. If you're peckish you can enjoy a meal at The Grain Loft, a baguette at Upper Crust, or a tasty salad at Giraffe. Enjoy a drink at Bar MCR or a coffee at Starbucks.

Both terminals have an Escape lounge, where you can chill out in comfort and style before you fly. There's unlimited Wi-Fi, complementary snacks and drinks, and plenty of space to spread out. Access costs £19.99* if you book in advance.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Belfast International Airport has one terminal. Access to the city centre is provided by the Airport Express 300. This bus runs every 15 minutes and takes 30-40 minutes to get to the city centre. There's also taxi rank outside the terminal building. You should expect to pay significantly more for a taxi to the city centre compared to taking the bus. Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Enterprise, National and Alamo all have desks inside the arrivals hall: compare prices for car hire from Belfast International Airport.

Belfast City also has one-terminal. This is the best airport to fly to if you're visiting Belfast on business as it's much closer to the city centre, giving you more time in the office. The Airport Express 600 runs between the airport and the Europa bus station in the city centre. Taxis are available at the rank just outside the terminal. Avis, Budget, Europcar and Hertz all offer car hire from Belfast City Airport.

Practical Information

Belfast is part of the UK so you don't need your passport to fly there. You just need to bring some photographic ID (we recommend a driving license).

What to expect in Belfast

Northern Ireland has its own bank notes, which are more vibrant and colourful than the English versions. Although businesses should accept them, you'll probably run into trouble if you bring them back to Manchester. We recommend only taking out as much money as you need, or withdrawing all of your holiday money before leaving the mainland UK.
