It's also possible to mix and match airlines to find flights to Lyon.

Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

From Gatwick: easyJet fly from the North Terminal while Monarch fly from the South. Gatwick's train station is in the South Terminal, so if you're flying with easyJet you may need to take the free inter-terminal shuttle. Both terminals have a wide range of designer and high street shops as well as places to eat and drink. There are three lounges in the North Terminal and one in the south. Both terminals have Regus Workpods with super-fast Wi-Fi and sound-proof walls (£10* for half an hour).

From Heathrow: KLM and Air France fly to Lyon from Terminal 4, British Airways from Terminal 3, and Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines fly from Terminal 2 (The Queen's Terminal). Terminal 4 has a separate stop on the tube and on the Heathrow Express so pay close attention. All of Heathrow's terminals have great shopping and unique dining options.

From Luton: Luton Airport has one terminal with a range of places to eat and shop. There's a Cloud 9 Nail Bar if you fancy a pre-holiday manicure, too. The Aspire Lounge offers a relaxing escape from the general hustle and bustle of the departure lounge.

From Southend: Southend is a no-frills airport designed with holidaymakers in mind. There are two places to grab a bite to eat, one duty free shop, and an executive lounge (prices start at £17.95* if you book in advance).

Terminal Information – Arriving

Most of the public transport departs from Terminal 1. All of the terminals at Lyon Airport are connected and it's possible to walk between them. It takes half an hour to reach Lyon Part-Dieu station in the city centre using the Rhônexpress tram-train. Single tickets cost €15.80* (just over £11) while a return will set you back €27.40* (less than £20). Bus routes 29 and 30 from Terminal 1 provide a cheaper option: tickets cost €2* (about £1.40). There is a taxi rank outside Terminal 1, too: expect to pay €40-50* (about £28-36) for a taxi into town. Ski shuttles are available during the winter.
