Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Flights to Stornoway depart from Glasgow International Airport  terminal 1. You'll find Boots, WH Smith, World Duty Free and Luggage Point in the departure hall in case you need to make any last-minute purchases for your trip. There are also some fashion stores including Celtic, The Fashion Place and Victoria's Secret. If you're hungry you can grab something to eat from Upper Crust, Frankie & Benny's, Tennant Pier Bar, Fresh Food Central or The Sandpiper. Glasgow Airport has one pay-in executive lounge, UpperDeck. Note that alcoholic beverages are limited to four per customer. The airport also has cash machines (we recommend visiting before your flight), prayer rooms, baby changing facilities and children's play areas. E-cigarettes are banned inside the terminal, and smoking is only allowed in designated areas outside the airport building.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Car hire from Stornoway Airport is worth considering, as public transport on the Scottish islands can be irregular. Having your own mode of transport definitely makes getting about easier. A bus service runs between the airport and the centre of Stornoway from Monday to Saturday. Local taxis also serve the airport, but it's best to book your transfer in advance as there's no taxi rank. Calling one once you arrive could result in a long wait.

Practical Information

We recommend arriving at the airport no later than one hour before scheduled departure: 90 minutes is best. You don't need a passport to fly on domestic routes. You will be asked to show some photographic identification for security reasons. You can use your driving license. Find a full list of approved ID types on Flybe's website.
