Terminal Information – Departing
Stansted Airport hasone terminal. The selection of restaurants, bars and cafes in the departure lounge is excellent with something to suit every taste and budget. James Martin Kitchen, Halo Fizz Bar and Itsu will appeal to those looking for a bit of posh nosh while The Windmill by Wetherspoon, Giraffe and Coast to Coast offer hearty cuisine in relaxed environments. Pret, M&S Simply Food, Pip, Leon and Starbucks are among the grab 'n' go offerings, perfect if you don't want to shell out for food on the flight. Stansted Airport also has an impressive range of shops, including World Duty Free and WH Smith as well as favourites like The Body Shop, Next, Oasis and Hamleys. The airport also has one pay-in VIP lounge run by Escape. You can book your place in advance for a small discount or pay on the day. The gates are quite far from the restaurants and shops, so try to go to the gate as soon as it's called.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Podgorica Airport is about 7.5 miles from the city centre. Buses are available between the airport and the city centre but note that services can be quite irregular. If you don't want to wait around you can hail a taxi: it should cost you about €15* for the trip into town, but if you're good at haggling you could get it for less than €10*. Car hire from Podgorica Airport is another option, and a good one if you're planning on staying somewhere slightly off the beaten track.
Your passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay in Podgorica. We recommend arriving at Stansted Airport at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure. Give yourself extra time if you have luggage to check in or if you're travelling during the school holidays.
What to expect in Podgorica
Podgorica is one hour ahead of London. Montenegro uses the Euro (€). Podgorica has hot and dry summers, with temperatures soaring above 40ºC during July and August. During the winter the weather is milder than other Balkan cities, with temperatures quite similar to London at 6ºC on average. Prices in Podgorica are a lot lower than in London, making it a fantastic choice for a budget city break.
