China Eastern and British Airways operate flights from London to Shanghai. Both airlines depart from London Heathrow Airport and fly to Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
London Heathrow Airport
London Heathrow Airport is located 12 miles to the west of Central London. You should arrive at Heathrow Airport at least three hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight. Both British Airways and China Eastern have check in desks at the airport and online check in facilities; online check in is recommended.
Passengers flying with China Eastern will need to head to Terminal 4, check in and the departures lounge is on Level 2 of the terminal building. In the Terminal 4 departures lounge you will find duty free shopping opportunities at World Duty Free and Dixons Travel, designer fashion brands such as Gucci, Mulberry and Burberry and places to pick up those last minute essentials such as Boots, WH Smith and Sunglass Hut. You can find food and drinks at the great selection of cafes and restaurants which include Apostrophe, Costa Coffee, Bridge Bar and Eating House and Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar.
British Airways flights depart from their exclusive terminal at Heathrow, Terminal 5. Like terminal 2 there are a wide variety of shops from designer fashion boutiques to high street favourites including Cartier, Ted Baker, Paul Smith and Prada. As well as the main departure lounge there are two smaller departure lounges Terminal 5b and 5c for flights departing from Gates B and C, both of these have WH Smith, Boots and World Duty Free stores as well as a Starbucks. Gates B and C can take from 15-20 minutes to reach from the main departure lounge so you will need to ensure you leave plenty of time to reach these before boarding starts.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport
Shanghai Pudogn Airport is located 30km to the east of the city of Shanghai, China. There are two terminals at the airport; China Eastern flights arrive into Terminal 1 and British Airways flights arrive into Terminal 2.
Onward travel options available to passengers at Shanghai Airport are the high speed trains, the metro line, airport buses and taxis. The quickest route into Shanghai is the high speed train service, trains depart from the airport every 15 minutes and take only 8 minutes to reach Longyang Road Metro Station. A single fare is 50 RMB.
The cheapest route into Shanghai is the Shanghai Metro Line 2 from the airport with a single fare costing between 6 and 8 RMB depending on your destination. A typical journey can take over an hour.
