Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

From Gatwick: Thomson and easyJet depart from the north terminal, while SunExpress and Thomas Cook flights leave from the south terminal. Both terminals have a large selection of shops, places to eat and business lounges (which can be entered for a fee). We recommend paying close attention to the departure boards: some of the gates are a long walk from the central concourse.

From Luton: There's only one terminal at Luton Airport. As well as a good range of places to eat and shop, the airport also has its own nail bar. There's also an Aspire lounge, which has recently been refurbished.

From Stansted: Stansted Airport only has one terminal. Most of the shops and restaurants are clustered together in the departure concourse. There's something to suit every taste and budget, whether you fancy a celebrity chef inspired meal from James Martin Kitchen or a quick snack from Burger King. There's an Escape lounge at the airport.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Adnan Menderes Airport is about ten miles from the centre of Izmir. You can reach the city by shuttle bus, public bus, or suburban train. There are ticket booths in the arrivals hall. If you'd rather avoid public transport you can rent a car. Car hire from Izmir Airport is available from brands including Avis, National, Europcar and Economy.

Practical Information

We recommend arriving at the airport no later than two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. You need a valid passport and a visa to visit Turkey. You can apply online for an e-visa up to three months before your travel date. These cost US $20* (just under £14) and are valid for 90 days. Although the airport computers will have a record of your evisa, it's best to carry a print-out of the PDF (or keep a copy on your smartphone).
