Terminal Information

Manchester Airport

The general recommendation is that you should arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight to Ibiza is scheduled to depart. If you have checked in online you will have a little more time to spare but it’s important to arrive before the bag drop desks close if you have hold luggage. All airlines apart from Ryanair have check in desks at the airport, Ryanair passengers must check in online up to 2 hours before the flight time.

Manchester Airport has three terminals, Thomas Cook and Jet2 passengers should head to Terminal 1, with Jet2 passengers checking in in the smaller Check-In B area. Terminal 1 offers the best selection of shops, whether you are looking for duty free deals or the latest fashion. Next, Paperchase, Pandora, Boux Avenue and Monsoon are alongside many more high street favourites. If you’re looking for something to eat there’s plenty of choice available at Upper Crust, Café Balzar, Starbucks, Giraffe and Soho Coffee Co.

Thomson Airways and Monarch Airlines are based in Terminal 2. Boots, Accessorize, Attitude Designer Clothing and a few other shops are in the terminal alongside Burger King, Café Nero, The Spinning Jenny Brew House and The Observatory Bar. Families can head to the children’s play areas to keep children under 8 occupied whilst waiting for the flight.

Ryanair flights depart from Terminal 3 which has a smaller selection of shops and places to eat compared to the other terminals. Boots, WH Smith, Accessorize, Biza Duty Free, Dixons, Swatch and Rolling Luggage are here. Places to eat in the terminal include Costa Coffee, Trattoria Milano Italian Restaurant and Pork and Pickle.

Ibiza Airport

Ibiza Airport is 7.5km from Ibiza Town and 20km from the popular resort of San Antonio. The airport serves both Ibiza and Formentera.

Onward travel from Ibiza Airport options are car hire, taxi and bus. The taxi rank is located outside of the airport and you can expect to pay around €20 for a taxi to Ibiza Town. Bear in mind during peak summer periods you may have to queue for an available taxi.

There are three main bus services from Ibiza Airport. The L-10 bus goes to Ibiza Town and departs every 20 minutes between April and October, and every 15 minutes in July and August, a single fare costs €3.50. The L-9 service runs to San Antonio and L-24 runs to Santa Eulalia departing hourly, both costing €4.

Car hire is available from the arrivals terminal at Ibiza Airport, from here you can easily reach destinations away from the main resorts.

What to expect in Ibiza

Ibiza is a popular summer holiday destination thanks to the variety of things to do, nightlife and the miles of sandy beaches. The island enjoys a hot and dry climate throughout the year, with temperatures consistently warmer than Manchester. Ibiza is cheaper than Manchester, especially when it comes to food and drinks in the main resorts.
