Glasgow International Airport
Jet2 flights depart for Barcelona from Terminal 1 but the check-in area is in Terminal 2. The Jet2 check-in desk opens three hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time.
In the departures lounge there are lots of shops where you can stock up on holiday essentials including Boots, Dixons, WHSmith, Accessorize and Sunglass Hut. There’s also a duty free shop, some Glasgow souvenir outlets and a Travelex currency exchange.
Food and drink options include chains like EAT, Starbucks, Wetherspoon’s and Frankie & Benny’s. There’s also Tennent’s Pier Bar, the Deli Kitchen Café for a bite to eat on the run or Beardmore Bar and Restaurant serving food throughout the day.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport
Glasgow Prestwick Airport is small, with just one terminal. In the departures area passengers will find a WHSmith, a currency exchange, a duty free shop and a play zone for children. Passengers can take advantage of the Shop and Collect service and leave any heavy or cumbersome purchases at the airport to collect upon their return.
For food and drink, before security there is a Starbucks and after security some more options including the Elvis Presley Bar which serves food and drinks.
Barcelona El Prat Airport
Both Jet2 and Ryainair flights arrive to Terminal 2A at Barcelona El Prat Airport which is 16.5km from the city of Barcelona.
Most arrival facilities including car hire desks and a taxi rank are located at Terminal 2B which is a short walk away from Terminal 2A. In the arrivals area there are also cash machines and a La Caixa bank where you can exchange currency.
Getting to Barcelona city centre from the airport is easy. Besides taking a taxi or hiring a car, you can take a train from the station at the airport. Trains run to Passeig de Gracia in the city centre every 30 minutes. You can buy a ticket from machines outside the station before passing through a turnstile to the platform. When purchasing your ticket, remember that the airport is located in zone 2.
Shuttle buses also travel from Terminal 2B into Barcelona city centre. They run approximately every 10 minutes every day of the year, reaching the city centre in 35 minutes and stopping at strategic points along the way.
What to Expect in Barcelona
You’ll find that travelling by public transport or by taxi is significantly cheaper in Barcelona than in Glasgow. Eating out and shopping are also less expensive.
