There are two main terminals at Barcelona-El Prat Airport, Vueling flights to Manchester depart from Terminal 1 and Monarch, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair and Jet2 flights depart from Terminal 2b. The airport recommends that passengers on flights to Manchester (a non-Schengen zone flight) arrive at least 3 hours before their flight’s departure time. Check in desks are available at the airport, alternatively Norwegian Air Shuttle have self service kiosks and all airlines offer online check in. Ryanair only offer online or mobile check-in, the check-in process must be completed up to 2 hours before your flight.
Both terminals have a duty free shop, a pharmacy, a Heaven on Earth Express Spa, as well as a number of fashion, beauty and gift shops. Popular brands featured within the terminals include Adidas, Mango and Sunglass Hut. For pre-flight meals, drinks and snacks you’ll find a great choice available from coffee shops and bars to restaurants such as Pans & Co, Burger King, Grill Terracotta and Lizarran for tapas.

Manchester Airport has three terminals with flights from Barcelona arriving into each. Norwegian Air Shuttle and Jet2 flights arrive into Terminal 1, Monarch flights arrive into Terminal 2 and Vueling and Ryanair flights arrive into Terminal 3.

The Manchester Airport Train station offers one of the quickest and easiest routes into Manchester City Centre. The station is a short walk from each terminal via a covered walkway, once you arrive you can purchase tickets from the station or on board the train. During peak periods trains depart every few minutes, so you won’t have long to wait for the next service. It will take approximately 14 minutes to reach Manchester Piccadilly Station and a typical ticket is around £5 when purchased on the day.
Trams and buses are also available from the airport departing regularly throughout the day, these are ideal if you are travelling to destinations outside of the centre.
Taxis and car hire are both available from each terminal. A taxi to Manchester city centre can cost at least £26, depending on your destination and time of travel. The car hire companies are all based together at the car rental village and a shuttle bus departs from the airport to take you to collect your car.
