Terminal Information – Departing
Aberdeen Airport only has one terminal with a small but useful range of shops such as WHSmith, World Duty Free, and Boots. Refreshments are available from three coffee shops and two restaurants. There’s also a small art gallery showcasing work by Scottish artists. If you enjoy relaxing before your flight you can book into the Servisair Executive Lounge, which has complementary Wi-Fi as well as a range of snacks and drinks.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Flights from Aberdeen usually land at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 3. Manchester Airport has its own travel hub, The Station. Here you can catch buses, trams and trains into the city and to other parts of the North West. Simply follow the signs once you come through customs. There is a taxi rank outside Terminal 3 where you can get a taxi straight to the city centre. Price depends on distance, and sometimes on the time of day. There should be a list of tariffs at the taxi rank.
You don’t need a passport to travel within the UK, just a valid form of photographic ID (such as a driving license). Although it’s less common in the north of England, some cashiers can be reluctant to accept Scottish bank notes. Play it safe and visit the cash machine once you arrive in Manchester.
If you forget to print your boarding card you can do it at the airport. There are self print terminals in Costa, before security. Alternatively, you can download the Flybe smartphone app and use your electronic boarding card to get through security.
We recommend giving yourself plenty of time at the airport: arrive no later than one hour before your flight is due to depart. You should give yourself extra time if you’re checking in some luggage, travelling during rush hour, or flying to Manchester during the school holidays.
