Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Qantas depart from terminal 1, while Tigerair and Jetstar flights depart from terminal 4. Terminal 1 is used exclusively by Qantas for its domestic routes. Terminal 4 has a good range of fast food places. If you need a quick bite you can indulge in burgers, pies, Mexican cuisine, doughnuts or muffins. Shops include high street labels like Desigual and Ripcurl as well as airport standards like Eye Love and WH Smith. There's a free Wi-Fi in every terminal, provided by a hotspot in terminal 4 and by Qantas in terminal 1.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Brisbane Airport is located 12 miles from the city centre. Flights from Melbourne land in the domestic terminal, which has excellent road and rail connections to the city centre. The Airtrain offers a regular service to the city centre, with one-way tickets costing $16* (just under £8.50) while a return costs $30* (just over £15.50). You can save up to 15% on the ticket price if you book online in advance. Con-X-ion operate shuttle buses from the airport to the city centre and to other popular destinations like Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Again, you can book tickets online before you travel or from the desk in the arrivals hall. There's a taxi rank outside the domestic arrivals hall: it should cost you around $35* (about £18) but bear in mind that cabs are metered, so it can be more expensive than this. Car hire from Brisbane Airport is available, and a great option if you fancy an Aussie road trip.

Practical Information

Although passports aren't required on domestic routes, we recommend British citizens keep theirs on them for security purposes. You may be asked to show photographic identification when you check in and just before you board the flight. Try to arrive at the airport no later than one hour before departure.
