Terminal Information

London Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport recommends that passengers travelling on European flights should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before their flight. Thomson Airways, British Airways, Thomas Cook Airlines, Monarch Airlines and Norwegian Air Shuttle all have check in desks in the check in at Gatwick Airport however, to streamline your check in process using the online check in where provided by the airlines is recommended. Easyjet passengers must check-in online up to 2 hours before their flight, no check in desks are available at Gatwick Airport.

Gatwick Airport has two terminals; Thomson Airways, British Airways and Easyjet flights to Lanzarote depart from the North Terminal. Thomas Cook Airlines, Monarch Airlines and Norwegian Air Shuttle depart from the South Terminal. Both terminals offer 90 minutes of free Wi-Fi, currency exchange, mobile phone charging points, a wide selection of places to eat and a great shopping experience. Shops and restaurants include Accessorize, Dune, Harrods, Mango, Zara, Eat and Jamie’s Italian.

London Stansted Airport

If you are travelling with Ryanair you will need to check-in in advance using the Ryanair website or mobile app. It is recommended that you arrive at London Stansted Airport at least 2 hours before your flight to Lanzarote is scheduled to depart. Bag drop desks are available in the check-in hall for any hold luggage, these close 40 minutes before your flight time.

In the Stansted Airport departure lounge shops which are available include Boots, Hamleys, Next, World Duty Free and Fat Face. You can take a standard shopping bag from the airport shops on board your flight with you in addition to your hand luggage. Wetherspoon, Starbucks, Pret a Manger, Gourmet Hotdog, Burger King and others are available if you are looking for pre-flight food and drinks. One hour of free Wi-Fi access is available whilst you are at the airport.

London Luton Airport

Ryanair passengers should arrive at London Luton Airport at least two hours before their flight having already used the online check in facilities to check in. There is one terminal at Luton Airport, the departures lounge is home to Boots, Kurt Geiger, Hotel Chocolat, Aelia Duty Free, Est Bar, Starbucks and Wasabi alongside many others. Luton Airport offers 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi access.

Lanzarote Airport

Lanzarote Airport serves Lanzarote in the Canary Islands and is located 5km from Arrecife on the south east of island. In the Lanzarote Airport arrivals, you will have a small selection of facilities available before you make the next stage of your trip. You will find cash machines, free Wi-Fi for up to 30 minutes, car hire desks, a convenience store and a duty free store.

Car hire is ideal for those who would prefer to travel around the island at their own pace and reach some of the more secluded beaches off the beaten track. Car hire companies which operate from Lanzarote Airport include Hertz, Payless, Europcar, and Goldcar.

There are lots of buses departing from outside of the airport terminal building offering routes to Arrecife, Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen and Playa Honda. Route 22 departs every 25 minutes and can reach Arrecife within 10 minutes, a single fare is €1.40.

What to expect in Lanzarote
