If you are heading to the cruise terminal you can take the train to Southampton and then a taxi which will take around 5 minutes, to the port.
A car rental building is located outside of the terminal for those who have hired a car from Southampton Airport. Driving into Southampton will take approximately 15 minutes via the A335 and the M27 is easily reached after exiting the airport.
