Terminal Information – Departing

Birmingham Airport has one terminal. The departure lounge has a good range of bars, restaurants and shops as well as two executive lounges. Access to the executive lounge starts at £21.99* per person. There's a No.1 Traveller Lounge and an Aspire Lounge. Both offer unlimited Wi-Fi and a range of complimentary snacks and drinks.

The main departure lounge has a nail bar (Cloud Nails) if you want to treat yourself to a manicure and a flight simulator (Softek Sim) if you want to try your hand at being a pilot. Shops include high street favourites like JD Sports and Superdry as well as airport mainstays World Duty Free, Boots and WHSmith.

Hungry travellers will find plenty to keep themselves going. Settle in for some pub grub at Wetherspoons, a tasty pizza at Frankie and Benny's, or healthy salad at Giraffe. If you're in a hurry you can enjoy a burger from Burger King, a kebab from Deli Hub, or a sandwich from Costa. For a posh pre-flight tipple there's a Blanc et Noir champagne bar, and an All Bar One for something a little lower-key.

Practical Information

Jersey is part of the Common Travel Area so you don't need a passport to fly from Birmingham. You will need to bring some official photographic ID, such as your driving license. We recommend arriving at the airport at least one hour before your flight is due to depart. Give yourself a little longer if you're flying during the school holidays or travelling at rush hour.

What to expect in Jersey

Jersey isn't part of the UK but there's no need to convert any currency, as the local currency is the Pound Sterling (£). Jersey has a milder climate than Birmingham. Summer temperatures are fairly similar, but during the winter Jersey is a few degrees warmer. As Jersey is an island, prices are quite high. You can expect to pay London prices for drinks in St Helier. Although the island does have public transport, the routes are quite limited. If you want to do a lot of exploring it's best to hire a car.
