How to check in
There are several ways to check in to your Pakistan International Airlines flight. You can do it the old fashioned way by turning up at the airport and checking in at the designated PIA desk. Check-in desks usually open 3 hours before departure if you're flying on an international route. Alternatively, you can check in online using PIA’s web check-in service. Note: if you check in online, you will need to print off your boarding pass and bring it with you to the airport.
Most long-haul PIA flights are onboard a Boeing 777. In Economy, the seat pitch (distance between your seat and the seat in front) is 32 inches and the seat width is 17 inches. Naturally, legroom improves with more expensive tickets. In Premiere, the seat pitch is 49 inches and the seat has a width of 23 inches. In First Class, the seat pitch is 90 inches and the width is 30 inches.
For PIA online flight booking, the airline accepts two payment types: VISA and Mastercard. PIA does not charge any additional fees for using either of these two payment methods.
Service on board
Pakistan International Airlines serves meals on-board its flights, which are included within the ticket price. The in-flight menu is made up of a range of Pakistani and international dishes. Typical lunch and dinner options include mutton curry served with rice, almonds, and raisins or Italian fettuccini pasta. In between meals PIA serves snacks such as chicken kebabs, club sandwiches, mango charlottes, and BBQ chick boti as well as a selection of hot and cold drinks. If you have any dietary requests, you should contact your local PIA call centre and let them know either during the booking of your flight or once you’ve booked. PIA’s In-flight entertainment system means you can relax and pass the time by watching movies and listening to music onboard the flight.
PIA scores highly for punctuality. From January to June 2006, PIA had a regularity of 99% and punctuality of 89 % across its entire network (Domestic and International flights). This only dropped slightly over the following ten years, with a 90 % regularity rate and 85 % punctuality rate in 2016.
