There are excellent shops and places to eat, but there are a few other treats too. Terminal 1 has a swimming pool, a cactus garden, and a water lily garden. If you're not in a hurry (and want to save money) you can take public transport. Car hire from Melbourne Airport is a great option if you're planning on getting out of the city: The Great Ocean Road is a wonderful road trip.
