At Don Mueang: The airport's train station is located a short walk from the airport, under a covered walkway. Tickets to Hualamphong station in the city centre cost ฿20* (roughly 40p) and the journey takes around an hour. Public buses are also available to destinations such as Victory Monument (bus 510), Sukhumvit (Bus 513), Rattanakosin (Bus 59) and Siam Square (Bus 29 and 504).  There's a public taxi stand immediately outside arrivals: expect to pay ฿250* (about £4.90) for a trip into the city centre.

Public buses to areas not served by the BTS (such as backpacker favourite Khao San Road) are available from the public transportation centre, a short shuttle ride from the airport. You can catch the free shuttle from the second floor (near gate 5). Metered taxis are available from the floor below the arrivals area. Expect to pay around ฿250-400* (£4.90-7.80) plus tolls.
