Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines depart from terminal 2 while easyJet flights leave from terminal 1. The Munich Airport Centre (MAC) connects the two terminals. Both terminals have a great range of places to eat and shop, ranging from duty free and Bavarian souvenirs to high-end fashion. Free Wi-Fi available throughout the airport complex. Lufthansa's Senator and Business lounges are located in terminal 2, while the pay in VipWing, Atlantic lounge and Europe lounge are all in terminal 1. There are some Napcabs (nap cabins) in terminal 2: perfect if you have time for a snooze before boarding. Just remember to set your alarm. Note that prices are slightly cheaper from 10pm to 6am, and are charged by the hour.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Manchester Airport is massive: in the UK it's second in size only to London-Heathrow. It can be quite intimidating finding your way around. Flights from Munich usually land at terminal 1, but all terminals are within walking distance of each other. The airport train station is in between terminals 1 and 2. Regular trains run to Manchester Piccadilly Station, but there are also services to other British cities if you want to go further afield. Other transport options are MetroLink trams, National Express coaches (to Chorlton Street) and Stagecoach buses (to Piccadilly Gardens). There are taxi ranks outside every terminal. Car hire from Manchester Airport is also available from brands such as Sixt, Avis and Europcar.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly from Munich to Manchester. We recommend arriving no later than one hour before your flight is scheduled to depart: ideally 90 minutes beforehand.
