Discover cheap hotels in Copenhagen with Skyscanner!

The blossoming Danish capital is cool, sophisticated and fun with stunning architecture, quaint canals and castles and cafes galore.

Cheap hotels in Copenhagen like the Generator Hostel are a bargain complete with in-situ bar. The Tivoli Hotel, right near the famous gardens, is a little more upmarket but worth every penny. The Copenhagen Island Hotel is an unusual option. Built on an artificial island in the city centre, this stunning hotel has all mod cons. Families can stay in the Cabinn Metro hotel at very reasonable rates, close to public transport and plenty of local eateries.

Book flights to Copenhagen to see two of the finest works of Danish rococo architecture; the Amalienborg Palace and the home of the Danish parliament; Christiansborg Palace. Hire a car in Copenhagen and take a trip to the free town of Christiania with its relaxed rules and chilled out vibe, stop for coffee and a dose of people watching.

Art lovers should visit the Karen Blixen Museum and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and also the enchanting statue of the Little Mermaid with its view of the stunning Opera House across the harbour. Beer fans can spend a few hours in Carlsberg; probably the best tourist attraction in Copenhagen!

The impossibly romantic Tivoli Gardens are wonderful for simply strolling or even jumping on a few rides in the Amusement Park. By night, Copenhagen’s restaurants, bars and clubs are in full swing serving up Danish delicacies like pork with potatoes and parsley sauce, delicious smoked fish and the wonderful Smørrebrød – a mix of open sandwiches. Danish food can be light and fresh as well as hearty and if you love patisserie, you can’t go far wrong with a famous, delightfully sticky, Danish pastry.

I have lots of family in Denmark and regularly visit them as I love the country so much! There are more bikes than cars in the city which is refreshing and inspiring. The streets are the cleanest of any city I’ve ever visited. The people of Denmark are open minded and friendly and all speak English almost fluently in the city. Most signs are written in danish and English. Amazing food, good shopping and some beautiful architecture! The weather is temperamental like England but with harsher extremes, colder winters and hotter summers. (In my experience)

Best country I’ve ever been to in Europe. I’ve been all over but this is the prettiest, safest, cleanest, loveliest city. I want to move here so badly.

I loved being able to bike everywhere. Wish we had the same infrastructure in the US.
