Terminal Information – Departing
This information is a guideline only. Always check your boarding card to confirm your terminal.
From Gatwick: Flights to Vancouver leave from the South Terminal. If you're arriving on the Gatwick Express you won't need to take the inter-terminal shuttle. The South Terminal has a good range of shops and restaurants. Go window shopping in designer stores like Harrods, Ted Baker, and Cath Kidston or tuck into a cheeky Nandos before your flight.
From Heathrow: British Airways flights to Vancouver now leave from Terminal 3, while Air Canada fly from Terminal 2. Both terminals have a good range of designer stores and restaurants. In Terminal 2 you can take a last opportunity to visit British stores like John Lewis and Harrods, and pick up something tasty for the flight at M&S Simply Food. In Terminal 3 you can pick up some designer goodies in Etro, Burberry or Cath Kidston before treating yourself to a seafood dinner at the Caviar House & Prunier. Or you could pick up some bits and bobs in Boots before having a coffee and sandwich at Costa.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Passengers of flights from London arrive at Vancouver Airport's international arrivals hall. The train station is in between the airport's two terminals. Follow signs for 'Canada Line' when you leave the arrivals hall. Trains take 26 minutes to reach downtown Vancouver. There's a taxi rank outside the arrivals area: you can expect journeys downtown to take roughly 20 minutes. There are five car hire companies on-site at Vancouver airport, and one based nearby.
You need a valid passport to fly to Canada from the UK. If your passport has less than six months validity on it, it may take longer to get through immigration. British citizens visiting Vancouver for a short period of time won't need a visa, but you will need to prove that you have enough money to support yourself during your time in the country. From March 2016, visa-exempt visitors to Canada will need to go through electronic Travel Authorisation to enter the country.
