British Airways and EasyJet both provide direct flights from London to Dubrovnik. Both airlines fly from London Gatwick.
There are two terminals at London Gatwick, North and South. British Airways flights to Dubrovnik leave from the North Terminal while EasyJet flights leave from the South. It is recommended that passengers on flights to Dubrovnik arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time. Both British Airways and Easyjet offer online check in with printable boarding passes and mobile apps which store your boarding pass.
In the departure lounges for both terminals, there is a good selection of facilities. Passengers will find both high street and luxury brand shops including Boots, WHSmith, Ted Baker, Harrods and Cath Kidston. Food and drink options include a range of fast food outlets, coffee shops, pubs and, in the North Terminal, Jamie’s Italian.
Passengers will also find a premium lounge in each terminal and services for business travellers, including Workpods. These are soundproof booths with Wi-Fi, printing facilities, a phone and device charging points.
There is just one terminal at Dubrovnik Airport, split between domestic and international flights. In the international arrivals hall, passengers will find a coffee shop, a bureau de change and a duty free store. There’s also an information desk offering details of local attractions and onward travel options.
There are a number of options for getting from the airport to Dubrovnik city centre. Car hire companies based at the airport include Budget, Hertz, Dollar, Avid, National and Sixt. Atlas buses greet every flight arrival and, for 40kn*, provide a shuttle to the city centre. You can buy tickets from the Atlas counter, on your right as you exit the baggage claim area, from the bus driver if the counter is closed, and online in advance. Taxis are also available outside the terminal building and a list of fares can be found at the taxi information counter inside the terminal building.
What to Expect in Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is a warm city with minimal rain throughout the year. Temperatures can reach the low thirties in summer months and rarely dip below freezing, even in the depths of winter.
Whilst Croatia is part of the EU, it doesn’t share the common currency. Instead transactions are made in Croatian Kuna. Eating out, shopping in the supermarket and getting around on public transport are all much cheaper in Dubrovnik than in London, sometimes even less than half the price. You can get a mid-range three course meal for two for around 190.00kn* (£18.00), a bottle of beer for 16.50kn* (£1.50) and a one-way ticket on public transport for just 15.00kn* (£1.45).
Dubrovnik is one hour ahead of the UK.
