Direct flights from London to Bordeaux are available with British Airways, Ryanair and EasyJet. British Airways and EasyJet flights depart from London Gatwick whilst Ryanair flights depart from London Stansted.
London Gatwick Airport is located 30 miles south of London city centre. There are two terminals at the airport. British Airways flights to Bordeaux leave from the North Terminal and EasyJet flights depart from the South. The airport advises passengers travelling on European flights to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flight departure time, though mobile and online check in in advance can save you time at the airport. Bag drop desks are located in the check in hall for those who need to check in any hold luggage.
Both terminals at London Gatwick have a great range of facilities for passengers. Shops include WHSmith, Boots, Mango, Pandora and Hugo Boss. There’s also a duty free store and currency exchange desks. Passengers will also find a selection of food and drink outlets, offering both fast food to go and meals. There’s Costa Coffee, Jamie’s Italian, McDonald’s, Nando’s and a Wetherspoon pub, to name but a few.
Stansted Airport is located 30 miles northeast of central London. There is just one terminal at the airport and passengers are advised to arrive two hours before their scheduled flight departure time.
Passengers who want to speed through security can pay £3.50* for a fast track pass which allows them to bypass longer queues. Once through to the departures lounge, there are lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Last minute holiday essentials can be bought from Dixons Travel, Boots, WHSmith, Fat Face and Sunglasses Boutique. There’s also a Wetherspoon pub, Giraffe restaurant, a Starbucks and a Burger King. Other facilities include a duty free store and a currency exchange.
Bordeaux Airport is located 15 kilometres west of Bordeaux city centre. There is just one terminal at the airport, split into A and B sections connected by a walkway. Arrivals are located on the ground floor.
