When your plane arrives at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, you'll find a number of shops and places to eat. Once you're ready to head to the city, go to either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 to arrange for car hire. If you're interested in taking a bus to the city, you can catch one at either the domestic or international terminals.
