Dubai International is the Emirates’ number one airport, though Dubai World Central, just south of the city, is an ambitious project still in progress, and currently deals with flights to Middle Eastern neighbours with some European and Asian routes. The other Emirates are served by busy airports in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah – something of an up-and-coming destination in itself.

Where can you fly to from UAE?

As a frequent stop-over airport for passengers travelling long-haul, Dubai International has numerous destinations to its name, including London, Sydney, Nairobi and Kuala Lumpur.

In terms of short-haul, you can fly to Bahrain in 1 hour 15 minutes from the UAE and Doha in Qatar in just an hour. And if the desert heat gets too much, alternative ski destinations like Serbia and Bulgaria are also affordable from the UAE.

Try smaller airports like Sharjah for the best bargains: Air Arabia runs cheap flights to places like Kochi in India, from where you travel onward to explore the subcontinent or beyond.
