Terminal Information
Bristol Airport
Bristol Airport is located seven miles from the city centre of Bristol, North Somerset. There is just one large, modern terminal building with plenty of facilities to enjoy before your flight. It is recommended that you arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight to Prague is scheduled to depart. Passengers flying with EasyJet will need to check in online up to two hours before their flight with no check in facilities available at the airport. If you are travelling with hold luggage you can check this in at posts 3-12 in the check in hall.
In the Bristol Airport departure lounge there are a number of shops and places to eat, these include WH Smith, World Duty Free, Starbucks, Dixons Travel, Superdrug and JD Sports. The mezzanine level is dedicated to food and drink with restaurants such as Brunel Bar and Kitchen, Cabin, Burger King and the premium Aspire and Aspire Plus lounges.
There is up to 60 minutes of free Wi-Fi access available for passengers at the airport.
Prague Airport
Prague Airport (Václav Havel) is 16km from the city centre of Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. There are two main passenger terminals at Prague Airport and Easyjet flights from Bristol arrive into Terminal 1, KLM and Brussels Airlines flights both fly into Terminal 2.
Onward travel options from Prague Airport include car hire, taxis or bus services. Three bus services depart from outside each terminal, the 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín (metro line A), the 100 to Zličín (metro line B) which take between 15-20 minutes and the Airport Express, which travels to the Prague Main Train Station. There are public transport information counters in both Arrivals Halls from which you can purchase tickets. Single tickets for the 100 and 119 bus services cost 32 CZK, the Airport Express service is 60 CZK.
Car hire is available from Prague Airport, car hire desks for Avis, Budget, Hertz and Sixt are located in the Arrivals Halls.
What to expect in Prague
Although part of the EU, the currency of the Czech Republic is the Czech Koruna. As a result, Prague is known for offering cheap city breaks with cost typically 50-60% lower than what you would normally experience in Bristol. Eating out is significantly cheaper, especially when choosing the smaller family run Czech restaurants. A three course meal for two will cost around 600 CZK/£17, a Czech beer is around 35 CZK and a regular coffee is around 45 CZK.
Spring is probably the best time to visit Prague when the weather is not too hot; the low temperatures of winter bring snow and the high temperatures of Summer tends to bring a high level of rainfall.
