Thomson Airways believes that your holiday starts the moment you step on the plane. They’re committed to making sure your flight is as memorable as the rest of your time abroad. The airline flies from more than 20 airports across the UK, so you’ll never have to travel far to find the right take-off point. And, they fly direct to more than 80 destinations across the globe – from closer-to-home favourites like Spain and Greece, to tropical retreats including Thailand, Mauritius, and the Caribbean.
Thomson Airways was the first UK airline to fly the state-of-the-art 787 Dreamliner, which now flies to each of their long-haul destinations. What’s more, Thomson Airways was named the World’s Best Leisure Airline at the 2016 World Airline Awards – the sixth time they’ve picked up the award.
How to Check-in
If you've chosen Select Your Seat, Seats with Extra Space, Seats with Extra Legroom or Premium Club seats, online check-in opens 14 days before your outward flight. If not, you can check-in online from 7 days before. To see if online check-in is ready for your flights yet, visit our Flight Extras website and enter your booking reference, the surname of the lead passenger and your departure date. You'll then be able to click the Check-in button if it's available.
Baggage Allowances and Fees
Depending on which holiday you book, each passenger can check in up to 3 bags weighing between 15kg and 20kg, plus 1 piece of hand luggage. Plus, under-2s get a 10kg allowance, on top of a pushchair or a car seat.
If your luggage is heavier than your allowance when you check in, you'll need to pay an excess luggage charge (£13 per kg for short and mid haul flights and £18 per kg for long haul flights). However, even if you pay the extra charge, each piece of luggage can't weigh more than 23kg.
On shorter flights, the standard seat pitch is around the 28" mark, while in the long haul Economy Club cabin you get from 32". On long haul flights, you can pay extra to upgrade to Premium Club seats, which have a 36" seat pitch on 767 aircrafts and a 38" seat pitch on the 787 Dreamliners. On both long and short haul flights you've also got the option of upgrading to Seats with Extra Space.
If you don't use the Select Your Seat services, your seats will be automatically allocated to you when you check-in online. If you choose to pay extra to reserve your seats, you'll get to choose your seat numbers. You can either reserve your seats when you're booking your holiday, or you can add them later by contacting the airline.
You don’t pay a charge to use a debit card when you book a holiday with Thomson. If you use a credit card to make payments online, you’ll need to pay a fee of 1.5%, which they’ll add at the payment stage.
