New York John F. Kennedy

New York John F. Kennedy Airport is located in Queens, 12 miles south-east of Lower Manhattan. The airport has six terminals, Delta Airlines depart from Terminal 2 and Jet Blue flights depart from Terminal 5.

In Terminal 2 you'll find several shops including Taste NY, Tech and a Travelex foreign exchange, as well as dining options such as Croque Madame, World Bean, Wendy's and BKLYN Beer Garden. Terminal 5 has a wider range of shops, cafes and restaurants – indulge in some retail therapy at Benefit Cosmetics, Blue Sky Traders and iS Duty Free or have a bite to eat at Dunkin' Donuts, Deep Blue Sushi, Fresh Italian Pasta or Illy Coffee Bar.

New York Newark

New York Newark Airport is located 15 miles south-west of Midtown Manhattan. The airport has three terminals, United flights depart from Terminal C and JetBlue and Southwest Airlines depart from Terminal A.

Terminal A has a range of shops including a duty free shop, Hudsons Booksellers and Tech on the Go – for food there's Currito Cantina, Dunkin' Donuts, Abica Coffee and many more outlets. In Terminal B you'll find a range of restaurants such as Famous Famiglia and Currito's Burritos, in the food court, as well as shops such as Hudson News, Swatch and Tech on the Go. Terminal C has the widest selection of shops and eateries, such as the Boar's Head Deli, CIBO Express, Gourmet Market and Origami Sushi. For shopping there's Dufry Duty Free, Gadget Express, L'Occitane and MAC as well as D_parture Spa where you can enjoy pre-flight beauty treatments.

All passengers can take advantage of 30 minutes free Wi-Fi.

New York La Guardia

New York La Guardia Airport is located 4 miles from Manhattan and has four terminals. Delta Airlines flights depart from Terminals C and D whilst Jet Blue flights depart from Terminal B.

Terminal B has the largest selection of shops and restaurants – dine at Au Bon Pain, Dunkin' Donuts, Bowery Bay Cafe or Five Guys or do some shopping at Discover NY, Duty Free Americas, Hudson or Lacoste. Those departing from Terminal C can grab a bite to eat at Taste NY, Vuelo Taqueria, World Bean or the Food Hall Hot & Cold Buffet or shop at Cibo Express Gourmet Market. In Terminal D you can enjoy meals and snacks from Bisoux Market, Harry's Deli, Minow and World Bean, or do some shopping at Cibo Express Gourmet Market or Tech.

30 minutes free Wi-Fi is available throughout all the terminal buildings.

Orlando International Airport

Orlando International Airport is located 6 miles south-east of Orlando. The airport has one main terminal building divided into two terminals, A and B. Delta and United Airlines flights arrive at Terminal B whilst JetBlue and Southwest Airlines flights arrive at Terminal A. There is a wide range of shops and restaurants at both terminals, as well as unlimited free Wi-Fi throughout the airport.

You can take the bus, airport shuttle or a taxi to Downtown Orlando. Buses leave from level 1 of Terminal A – take the Lynx Bus 11 or Lynx Bus 51 – a single ticket costs around $2. Shuttles are also available for around $20 per person. If your hotel offers a complimentary shuttle – the pickup point is on level 1 of Terminal B.

Taxis leave from level 1 of both terminals and there are a range of taxi companies, metered rates can vary but expect to pay between $38-45 to Downtown.

There are a number of car rental operators with desks located on level 1 of both terminals including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, E-Z Rent A Car, Firefly, Hertz, National and Thrifty.

What to expect in Orlando

Orlando in Florida is often best known for its theme parks – in fact most of them, including Walt Disney World, are not in Orlando itself but in nearby Lake Buena Vista. The most popular times to visit Orlando are from March to April and June to August – but bear in mind that summer here can be hot, humid and very busy; this is a particularly popular time for families with children, with highs of 32ºC plus. Autumn here is still pleasant, with average temperatures of 29ºC, although it can be rainy.

You will find Orlando cheaper than New York in most aspects, especially when it comes to dining out. A three course meal for two will cost around $50 and a single trip on public transport is $2.
