Jetstar Airways, Qantas, Tigerair Australia and Virgin Australia all fly direct to Adelaide from Melbourne.

Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Terminal 1 is dedicated to domestic Qantas flights. The departure lounge has a Qantas Club lounge, a few shops and a food court. Departure gates are located on the mezzanine level of the terminal.

Virgin Australia fly from Terminal 3, which has a great range of places to eat and shop. Dining options include Able Baker Charlie for bread-based snacks, Sushi Sushi and McDonalds. Shops include airport favourites like Sunglass Hut and Newslink. There's also an Irish bar, if you're in the mood for a pre-flight drink.

Jetstar Airways and Tigerair Australia fly from Terminal 4. Places to eat in Terminal 4 include McDonalds, Chop Salad and Brasserie Bread. There are also plenty of places to shop including Spanish fashion chain Desigual, Rip Curl and Eye Love Melbourne. There's a pharmacy and a WH Smith too, for those last minute essentials. The Two John's Taphouse provides a local pub atmosphere in the middle of the departure lounge, for those who need a stiff drink before they fly.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Adelaide Airport is around four miles from the city centre. The airport only has one terminal, so it's easy to find your way out and onto onward transportation. There are six JetBus lines which connect the city to the airport. On average the buses run every 15 minutes. Tickets cost $5.10* (just over £2.50) during peak hours and $3.20* (just over £1.50) during off-peak hours. Tickets are fully transferable within two hours, so you can use the same ticket to hop on another bus once you get to the city centre. A three-day visitor pass covers all public transport and costs $25* (about £12.50). Private coaches are also available and pre-booking is essential. Car hire at Adelaide Airport is available through Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty, RedSpot, Avis, Budget and Sixt.

Practical Information

Passports aren't required for domestic flights within Australia, however British citizens may be asked to show their passports while checking on or boarding the 'plane. We recommend arriving at the airport at least one hour before your flight is scheduled to depart, giving yourself plenty of time to get through security.
