The second major city of Tasmania, Launceston is often considered to be Hobart’s rival. Alongside the elegant architecture, beautiful outdoor spaces and sights such as the Cataract Gorge and Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston has an exciting culinary scene with wines from the Tamar Valley.
Hobart Airport to Launceston is a 2 hour 30 minute drive via the National Highway 1, through the Tasmanian Midlands passing through towns such as Oatlands and Campbell Town which are both worth stopping off and exploring.
