Terminal Information – Arriving
Venice-Marco Polo Airport has one terminal. It's easy to get into Venice, with a number of public and private transfer options available from the airport. The most convenient (and scenic) option is the water taxi: unfortunately it's also the most expensive at €100-160* (about £76-114). It's the only option which will take you right into the city centre, as Venice has no roads. The boat launch point is just a short walk from the terminal. If you don't mind walking with your case, you can take bus no. 5 to Piazzale Roma car park just outside the city walls. Buses from the airport are also available to towns along the coast, Alpine ski resorts, and the train station at Mestre. Tickets are available from the machine in baggage reclaim, from the drivers of ATVO and FSVbusitalia buses, and from the public transportation ticket office inside the terminal. If you're planning a self-drive tour around the region you can hire a car at the airport. You can compare prices with Skyscanner to find the best deals.
Practical Information
You don't need a passport for domestic flights within the Schengen zone. If you're a Brit travelling abroad we recommend keeping your passport on you at all times. You may be asked to show some form of photographic ID. Aim to get to the airport at least one hour before your flight is due to depart.
