Terminal Information

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is the main international airport serving Paris which is 30km away. There are three terminals, Air France flights to Rome depart from Terminal 2E and Alitalia flights depart from Terminal 2F. Both airlines offer check in at the airport and web check-in in advance.

When it comes to shopping in Terminal 2, there are designer labels such as Fendi, Chanel and Burberry as well as beauty brands and duty free stores such as MAC and Buy Pars Duty Free. Food options range from snacks and fast food to restaurant meals at Naked, Brioche Doree, Frenchy’s Bistro and Fauchon.

Free unlimited Wi-Fi access is available at Paris CDG Airport. If you need a faster service you can upgrade.

Paris Orly Airport

Paris Orly Airport is the closet airport to Paris, 18km away. There are two terminals at Paris Orly Airport, the South and West ((Sud and Ouest). Iberia, British Airways and Vueling flights depart from the Ouest/West Terminal and Easyjet flights depart from the Sud/South Terminal. Airport, onlne and mobile check in is available for all passengers except Easyjet who must check in online or via mobile as there are no Easyjet check-in desks available.

The Sud Terminal departures lounge is located on Level 1 and has a great choice of shops including Burberry and Buy Paris Duty Free. Dining options include Meli Melo, Paul and Le Clos Saint Germain. The Ouest Terminal has brands such as Hugo Boss, La Maison du Chocolate, Red D’Hippo, Boco and Paul.

There is unlimited Wi-Fi access available in both terminals.

Paris Beauvais Airport

Paris Beauvais Airport/Beauvais-Tille is the furthest from Paris, 90km away and serves mainly budget airlines. Ryanair passengers need to check in online or using the mobile app up to 2 hours before their flight to Rome is scheduled to depart. This is a small airport and as a result the shops and places to eat are limited. There’s a duty free shop and a restaurant alongside information points, a currency exchange and Wi-Fi access.

Rome Fiumicino Airport

Rome Fiumicino Airport, also known as Leonardo da Vinci Airport is 35km from Rome. The airport has four terminals; Air France and Alitalia flights arrive into Terminal 1 and British Airways, Vueling, Iberia and Easyjet flights arrive into Terminal 3.

You can reach Rome city centre by train, bus or taxi. The Leonardo Express airport train runs to Rome Termini station every 15-30 minutes, with a journey time of 32 minutes. Buses to Rome city centre depart from opposite terminal 2 arrivals (follow signs for 'Regional Bus Station) but journey time is approximately one hour; tickets can be purchased on board.

Taxis to Rome city centre leave from outside terminal exits. A fare into Rome is approximately €55. Car rental offices can be found in the multi-storey car park – follow signs to the pedestrian tunnels linking from the terminal building. Operators include Noleggiare, Rent4U, Sixt, Maggiore, Locauto Rent, Hertz, Europcar, Avis, Budget and Auto Europa.

Rome Ciampino Airport

Rome Ciampino Airport is located 15km south of Rome, there is just one terminal at the airport. The airport has a train station (Ciampino Railway Station) which offers the quickest route into the city taking just 15 minutes. Buses depart from outside of the terminal building to Roma Termini Railway Station, these take around 40 minutes. If you’d prefer to travel by car there are car hire companies in the main arrivals hall or, taxis which cost around €35.

What to expect in Rome

Rome, or the 'Eternal City' is home to the Vatican City, the Colosseum and many other attractions. The historic city centre is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the city's history spans over two and a half thousand years.

Visiting Rome will cost you slightly less than what you would normally expect to pay in Paris. Dining out costs around the same but beers and wine will cost around 30% less, an espresso is about 50% cheaper in Rome.

Rome has one of the highest levels of hours of sunshine across Europe, Temperatures are a few degrees higher than Paris throughout the year and although Rome has significantly drier summer months, overall the level of rainfall is higher.
