Airlines that fly from Istanbul to London

Turkish Airlines, British Airways, Pegasus and atlasglobal operate direct flights from Istanbul to London.

Flights from Istanbul to Heathrow are operated by British Airways and Turkish Airlines, flights from Istanbul to Gatwick are operated by Turkish Airlines and Istanbul to Luton flights are operated by atlasglobal.

Flights from Sabiha Gokcen International Airport are available with Pegasus and Turkish Airlines who fly to London Gatwick Airport. Pegasus also fly to London Stansted.

Terminal Information

Istanbul Ataturk Airport

Istanbul Ataturk Airport is the main international airport serving Istanbul, located 20km from Istanbul city centre. The airport advises passengers on international flights to London to arrive at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time. All airlines offering direct flights to London have check in desks at the airport as well as online check-in facilities. Check-in closing times differ across the airlines so it’s important to confirm these.

There are three terminals at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, international flights depart from Terminal 2. The Terminal 2 departure lounge is home to Atu duty free store, a spa and beauty centre, a food court with a great choice of food and drinks and premium lounges.

There is 2 hours of free Wi-Fi access available in the terminal.

Sabiha Gokcen International Airport                            

Sabiha Gokcen International Airport is located 47km east of Istanbul, there is one main terminal. You should arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight to London is scheduled to depart. Both Pegasus and Turkish Airlines offer check-in at the airport as well as mobile and web check-in. which closes 60 minutes before your flight.

In the departures lounge there is a large duty free store as well as brands such as Nike and Victoria’s Secret. Dining options at the airport includes cafes and restaurants such as Starbucks, McDonalds, and Heroes Sports Bar. Other facilities include a hair salon, pharmacy and paid-Wi-Fi access.

London Heathrow Airport

Turkish Airlines flights arrive into Terminal 2 and British Airways flights arrive into Terminal 5. Both terminals have train and underground stations, car hire desks and taxis.

The quickest transport option from Heathrow to Central London is the Heathrow Express train. Trains depart every 15 minutes with a 15 minute journey time to Paddington Station. A single ticket costs £26.50.

The cheapest way to reach Central London from Heathrow is via the Underground. Stations are located at both Terminal 2 and 5 and travel to Piccadilly Circus in 45 minutes with regular services throughout the day. A single ticket to Central London is £5.70 and can be purchased at the station’s ticket booth.

London Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport has two terminals, both Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines flights arrive into the South Terminal. In the arrivals hall there’s plenty of facilities such as free Wi-Fi, shops and places to eat. The Gatwick Airport train station is located at the South Terminal; you can reach London by train in 30 minutes on the Gatwick Express service.

London Stansted Airport

London Stansted Airport, 40 miles north of Central London has one terminal. You can reach London by train, bus or car hire. Car hire companies are located together in the Car Rental Village.

If you wish to travel into London by train you can take the Stansted Express train service. Departing every 15 minutes, it takes just under an hour to reach Liverpool Street Station. National Express services also depart from the airport every 15 minutes.

London Luton Airport

London Luton Airport is 33 miles north of London and has one terminal with a small selection of shops and places to eat before you make the next stage of your journey. Car hire is available from a dedicated car rental centre which can be reached by a shuttle bus.

Luton Airport Parkway station is a short shuttle bus service away from the airport and from here there are services to London St Pancras International Station with a journey time of 30 minutes. Bus services are also available with National Express and Easybus.
