Birmingham Airport has one terminal. After security there's a good range of places to shop, eat, or relax. The airport's range of high-street shops includes Superdry, Hugo Boss and Next. There are also plenty of airport favourites like World Duty Free, WH Smith and Boots. Dining options range from quick and easy (Deli Hub, Costa) to places where you can linger a little longer over your food (Giraffe, Wetherspoons). You can kick off your holiday in style with a glass of fizz at Blanc et Noir champagne bar or treat yourself to a manicure from Cloud Nails. For added luxury, check into one of the airport lounges. Prices start at £21.99* per person and gives you the opportunity to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the departure gates.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Athens Airport is around 17 miles from the city centre. Public transport is widely available with four express buses and a Metro serving the airport. Metro and bus tickets are transferable and can be used for up to 90 minutes after you validate them. Not validating your ticket can result in a massive fine, so don't skip this step. One-way Metro tickets from the airport to the city centre cost €8* (about £6.20) while express bus tickets cost €5* (about £3.90). There's a taxi rank outside the arrivals area. During the day taxis offer a flat fare of €38* (about £29.50) which rises to €50* (just under £39) at night. Car hire from Athens Airport is also available and provided by a number of major agencies.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly to Greece from the UK. Try to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is set to depart, giving yourself extra time if you're travelling during the school holidays.
