The drive from Athens International Airport to Athens is 36 minutes and 44.1km long via the Attiki Odos motorway which is a toll road. As Athens is a major city you should be prepared for congestion especially during peak periods and rush hours.
The city of Athens has a Municipal Parking System that provides 1,956 spaces for short term parking. These spaces are available Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. The maximum parking time available is 3 hours for which you would pay €6.

Sounio

Cape Sounio is home to the ancient Temple of Poseidon ruins that are located on the edge of the cape and surrounded on three sides by the ocean. The Sounion National Park is also located nearby.

Athens International Airport to Sounio is a 55 minute, 50km drive via the Attiki Odos toll motorway and Route 89 passing by Markopoulo and Lavrion.
There is well sign-posted parking available that can be found near to the Temple of Poseidon.

Marathon

Marathon is the city that gave the sport its name. Combining Grecian blue sea with green mountains, the city has archeological sites and museums, beautiful beaches and the man-made Lake Marathon complete with marble coated dam.

It is a 45 minute, 36km long drive from Athens International Airport to Marathon via the Epar Od Peanias-Loutsas, Epar Od Spaton-Pikermiou and Leof Marathonos. Schinias National Park is located near to Lake Marathon and has multiple parking areas available.
