All of the companies operate on a twenty four hour basis with the exception of Hertz who are open between 6am and 11pm and offer an out of hours pickup and return for an additional fee.

If you hire a car from Athens International Airport with a “full to full” fuel policy you will need to refuel your petrol tank before returning the car.

The drive from Athens International Airport to Athens is 36 minutes and 44.1km long via the Attiki Odos motorway which is a toll road. As Athens is a major city you should be prepared for congestion especially during peak periods and rush hours.
The city of Athens has a Municipal Parking System that provides 1,956 spaces for short term parking. These spaces are available Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. The maximum parking time available is 3 hours for which you would pay €6.
Cape Sounio is home to the ancient Temple of Poseidon ruins that are located on the edge of the cape and surrounded on three sides by the ocean. The Sounion National Park is also located nearby.
Athens International Airport to Sounio is a 55 minute, 50km drive via the Attiki Odos toll motorway and Route 89 passing by Markopoulo and Lavrion.
