Airlines that fly from Barcelona to London

British Airways to London-Gatwick and London-Heathrow; easyJet to London-Gatwick, London-Luton and London-Southend; Monarch Airlines to London-Gatwick; Norwegian Air Shuttle to London-Gatwick; Ryanair to London-Stansted; and Vueling to London-Gatwick. This is the busiest international route from Barcelona Airport, so book your flights as early as possible.

Terminal Information – Departing

Flights to London leave from Terminal 1, although flights operated by budget airlines (easyJet and Ryanair) often leave from Terminal 2. Remember: this information is a guideline only. You must check your boarding card carefully to confirm which terminal your flight is leaving from on the day.

Terminal 1 is the newest terminal, and is packed with fantastic shops. There's lots in the way of high-end fashion, Spanish delicatessens, and quality souvenirs. Terminal 2 has fewer shops: a lot of the big names have moved over to the new terminal. You can still find plenty to keep yourself occupied, however.

Terminal Information – Arriving

At Gatwick: Flights from Barcelona land in both the North and South terminals, depending on airline. The train station is in the South Terminal. Passengers landing in the North terminal will need to catch the free inter-terminal shuttle if they want to catch the Gatwick Express. Coaches, buses and taxis are available from both terminals.

At Heathrow: All five terminals are well connected by public transport. The tube is the cheapest way to reach central London. The Piccadilly Line stops at every terminal. The Heathrow Express also has a stop at each terminal, and is the fastest way to reach the city centre. Taxis are available outside, as are buses and coaches. We recommend pre-booking train and coach tickets as it often works out cheaper.

At Luton: You can take the train from Luton Airport Parkway train station, a ten minute shuttle ride away. The train journey takes a little over 20 minutes, making it the fastest way to reach central London from Luton Airport. Coach companies, including National Express and easyBus, also offer transport between the city and the airport.

At Southend: There's a train station at the airport. It takes just over 50 minutes to reach London Liverpool Street by train. Coaches, buses and taxis are available outside the arrivals hall.

At Stansted: The Stansted Express train runs between the airport and Liverpool Street station. This is the fastest way to reach the centre of the city. Coaches usually run between the airport and Victoria Bus Station. Taxis are available, but they can be very expensive.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly from Spain to the UK. It only needs to be valid for the duration of your stay. Try to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart.
