Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Schiphol Airport has one sprawling terminal, split into concourses. You'll be given your concourse number when you check-in. As a rule of thumb short-haul KLM and KLM Cityhopper flights depart from concourses B, C and D. Lufthansa Cityline usually depart from terminal B. Schiphol Airport has all of the facilities you would expect from a world class airport, including a massive range of places to shop and eat.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Munich Airport is about 18 miles from the city centre. It's one of Europe's best airports, often topping the lists at the World Airport Awards. The airport is connected to the city centre by S-bahn (overground train) lines S1 and S8. Trains take about 40 minutes to reach the city centre. There are no barriers at the station, as Germany's trains run on an honour system. You'll face a fine if you get caught without a validated ticket, however, so make sure you stamp yours before boarding. There's a Lufthansa Airport Bus and a taxi rank just outside the arrivals hall. Driving in Germany is a joy and car hire from Munich Airport is highly recommended for exploring Bavaria and visiting iconic attractions like Neuschwanstein Castle.

Practical Information

You don't need a passport to fly on this route as both cities are within Schengen. You may be asked to show some photographic identification before boarding the flight or when you check in, so we recommend bringing your passport anyway. Try to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure.
