Flights from Chicago O’Hare to John F. Kennedy Airport are operated by American Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Delta. Flights to Newark Airport are operated by American Airlines and United. Flights to New York La Guardia Airport are operated by American Airlines, Delta, Spirit and United.

Terminal Information

Chicago O’Hare International Airport

Chicago O’Hare International Airport has four terminals, United depart from Terminal 1, Delta depart from Terminal 2 and Spirit Airlines, Jetblue and American Airlines depart from Terminal 3. The airport recommends that passengers on flights to New York should arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their flight departure time to allow enough time for check-in, security and locating the departure gate.

Facilities at the airport include a great selection of restaurants, cafes and bars, shops, a spa, yoga room (T3 only), ATMs, phone and laptop charging points, premium lounges, 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi and art exhibits.

Chicago Midway Airport

There is just one passenger terminal at Chicago Midway Airport, divided into 3 concourses, Southwest Airlines flights to New York depart from concourse B. Here you will find Manny’s Express, Oak Street Beach Café, Red Mango, a small selection of shops, 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi, mobile and laptop charging points and ATMs.

New York John F. Kennedy Airport

John F. Kennedy Airport is 12 miles south east of Manhattan, there are 6 terminals. Delta flights arrive into Terminal 4, Jetblue flights arrive into Terminal 5 and American Airlines flights arrive into Terminal 8.

The AirTrain Shuttle service connects the terminals with the hotel shuttle services, car rental pick up points and onward travel options which include buses from the Central Terminal Area, the Long Island Railway and subway (A, E J, Z lines). Taxis are available from the terminals and a set fare is in operation for all licenced cabs. A journey to Manhattan will cost $52 for the standard trip, plus $5 for tolls, $6 customary tip and tax of $0.50.

New York LaGuardia Airport

New York LaGuardia Airport is located to the north of New York City, in Queens and is dedicated to domestic flights so a little quieter than JFK or Newark. There are four terminals, Delta flights arrive into Terminal A, Spirit, United and American Airlines flights arrive into Terminal B.

Onward travel from LaGuardia Airport to New York City are the NYC Airporter Bus, car rental or taxi. Taxis are considered to be the quickest and easiest method of transport from LaGuardia Airport. A taxi from LaGuardia Airport to Manhattan will take 20-40 minutes depending on traffic and cost between $25 and $40, excluding tolls and tips.

Newark Airport

Newark Airport in Newark, New Jersey is just 15 miles east of New York City. American Airlines flights arrive into Terminal A and United flights arrive into Terminal C. A shuttle train connects each terminal with the New Liberty International Airport Station which offers a number of train connections into both New York and New Jersey and the bus services. If you’re travelling by bus to New York, there are services available to Grand Central Terminal and the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Taxis are available from the terminals, a typical fare from Newark Airport to Manhattan is between $50 and $70 depending on your time of travel and final destination, this does not include tolls and tips.
