Birmingham Airport only has one terminal. The departure lounge has a wide range of places to shop, chill out and grab a bite before boarding. The airport has free Wi-Fi, great for last-minute trip planning (or Snapchatting). Shops include WH Smith, World Duty Free and Superdry. You can sit down for a meal at Frankie & Benny's, or grab a picnic to eat on the 'plane at Pret and M&S Simply Food. Raise a glass to your trip to Salzburg at All Bar One, Blanc et Noir Champagne Bar or Wetherspoons. Or, for something slightly more wholesome, head to Joe & The Juice for a healthy smoothie. If you need some help to relax you can enjoy a short treatment at Aerospa or check into one of the executive lounges run by Aspire and No.1 Traveller. Terminal Information – Arriving

Salzburg Airport is about four miles from the city centre.

· Public buses 2, 10 and 27 run from the airport to the city centre. Tickets cost €2.50* and can be bought from the driver, at the machine by the bus stop, or at Newscorner inside the terminal.

· You can walk from the airport, but it takes about an hour to reach the city centre.

· There's a taxi stand outside the terminal. The journey should take 15-20 minutes.

· Avis, Budget, Buchbinder, Europcar, Hertz, Megadrive, Autovermietung and Sixt all provide car hire at Salzburg Airport.

What to expect in Salzburg

Salzburg is one hour ahead of Birmingham and the local currency is the Euro (€). Salzburg has warmer summers and colder winters than Birmingham. During July and August it can get as warm as 24°C, the ideal temperature for hitting the Alps and doing your best Maria Von Trapp impression.
