Terminal Information – Arriving

At London-City: There's only one terminal to navigate once you land. Public transport in London is excellent. You can use the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to reach the fantastic underground system. There are trains every 8-15 minutes. You can also take buses 473 and 474 to Central London. If you're running late, head to the taxi rank. It should cost you around £35* for the trip into Covent Garden.

At Gatwick: Flights from Amsterdam land in both the North and South terminals. If you land in the North terminal you will need to take the free inter-terminal shuttle to reach the South terminal, where the train station and bus stops are. The Gatwick Express train is the fastest way to reach the city centre. There are also coaches, buses, and taxis: although the latter option can be prohibitively expensive.

At Luton: Again, the train is the quickest way into London. Take the free shuttle bus to Luton Airport Parkway train station: this should take about 10 minutes. The train journey will take just over 20. A number of coach companies, including National Express and easyBus, also offer airport transportation. You should book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

At Heathrow: Every terminal has its own bus stops, taxi ranks, and train stations. The Heathrow Express train is the fastest mode of transport into the city, and the least expensive is the Piccadilly Line on the Underground.

At Southend: Trains to London Liverpool Street take just over 50 minutes, and tickets cost £14.90*. Coach and bus services are also available.

At Stansted: The Stansted Express train to Liverpool Street is the fastest way to reach the city centre. Tickets are cheaper if you pre-book. You can also pre-book coaches, or take a taxi.
