Airlines that fly from Stockholm to Copenhagen

Norwegian Air Shuttle and Scandinavian Airlines fly direct to Copenhagen from Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. Ryanair also fly to Copenhagen from Stockholm-Skavsta Airport. There are currently no flights to Copenhagen from Stockholm-Vasteras Airport or Stockholm-Bromma Airport.

Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

From Arlanda: Flights to Copenhagen usually leave from terminal 5. There are lots of places to grab a bite to eat, whether you're in the mood for Swedish classics or some international cuisine. There are plenty of bars and coffee shops, in case you need a caffeine hit (or something slightly stronger). Shops in Terminal 5 include fast fashion and designer brands, a toy shop and a 7-11 convenience store. The airport offers three hours of free Wi-Fi for every passenger: you can pay for additional access with your debit/credit card.

From Skavsta: Skavsta Airport only has one terminal. There's one place to eat in the departure lounge, The Bar, which serves pub grub and a range of alcoholic and soft drinks. There's a duty free shop, which is around 20% cheaper than high-street prices. There are further dining options and a newsagent located before security.

Terminal Information – Arriving

International flights land at terminals 2 and 3, which are both under one roof. The train and metro stations are located in terminal 3: the train station downstairs, and the metro station in the northern tip of the building. You can buy your tickets from the office in the arrivals hall: you will need a three zone ticket, which costs 75* DKK (a little under £7.85). The metro goes to Norreport Station in the city centre and takes about 15 minutes, while the train goes to Central Station and takes just over 10 minutes. Car hire at Copenhagen Airport is available from Avis, Budget, Sixt, Hertz, Enterprise and Europcar. There's a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall. You can pay by credit card, and tips are included in the fare.

Practical Information

Stockholm and Copenhagen are both within the Schengen zone. Despite this, border controls between Sweden and Denmark have been tightening. You might be asked to show your passport for security purposes. Aim to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart.

What to expect in Copenhagen

The currency in Copenhagen is the Danish kroner. In terms of weather you can expect similar temperatures during the summer, and a slightly warmer climate during the winter. Don't get too excited: the average January temperature is still a chilly 0°C. Copenhagen is generally more expensive than Stockholm, although beer and bottled water is cheaper.
