Cheap Flights from Perth to Brisbane

Airlines that fly from Perth to Brisbane

Qantas and Virgin Australia both fly direct to Brisbane from Perth. This is the busiest domestic route (after Melbourne and Sydney) so we recommend booking your flight as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.

Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Virgin Australia flights depart from terminal 1 while Qantas fly from terminal 4. Terminal 1's domestic area has a few shops to browse while you wait to board. They include Amcal Express (a pharmacy), Gadgetshop (for techie accessories),  Jeanswest (fashion), Ripcurl (beachwear), Sunglass Hut, WH Smith and Zoodle (a toy shop). There are five places to grab a refreshment: Hungry Jacks (Australia's answer to Burger King), Nooodles (Asian cuisine), Salsa's Fresh Mex (Mexican food), Toby's Estate (coffee shop) and the Long Neck Public House (bar food). Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the teminal, and there are charging points dotted around the seating areas so you can give your mobile devices a bit of juice before boarding. 

Terminal Information – Arriving

Flights from Perth arrive at the domestic terminal of Brisbane Airport. There's a taxi rank right outside the arrivals hall of this terminal. Con-x-ion shuttle buses meet every flight to Brisbane and have services to the city centre, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Another option is the AirTrain, which leaves the airport every 15 minutes and serves the same destinations as Con-x-ion. You can also use the AirTrain to connect to the international terminal (there's a fee of $5* for this service). Car rental desks are located on level 1 of the domestic terminal building. Practical Information

British tourists may be asked to show their passports before boarding, even on internal flights. We recommend arriving at the airport 90 minutes before scheduled departure.

What to expect in Brisbane

Brisbane is two hours ahead of Perth. Brisbane has a slightly warmer climate, with a temperature average of 26°C in January (the warmest month) and 15°C in July (the coolest). This is only a few degrees warmer than the Perth average, so you may not even notice the difference. Prices in Brisbane are slightly cheaper than prices in Perth. Dinner for two in a mid-range restaurant costs about $80* on average: $20* less than a similar meal would cost in Perth. Other things that are cheaper include beer (20% cheaper for domestic, 11% cheaper for imported) and coffee (5% cheaper). Unfortunately, public transport and taxis are about 25% more expensive than in Perth.
